Chun-Keung Loong (龍振強) Lectures

Chun Loong is a senior physicist at the Intense Pulsed Neutron Source (IPNS) Division of Argonne National Laboratory (ANL). IPNS is one of the most cost-effective and scientifically productive neutron user facilities with the United States Department of Energy (DOE) system. He is well known for his research in characterization of microscopic material properties, from magnetic to superconducting transitions to electrochemical and catalytic interactions at interfaces, using neutrons and photons. His recent works involve crystalline/glassy phosphate-based materials and nanostructured complex oxides that have found applications in catalysis, proton-conducting energy devices, biological implants, and laser optics. He is a principle- or co-investigator of many projects in collaboration with researchers in Americas, Europe and Asia. He is a fellow of the American Physical Society, the recipient of the University of Chicago Distinguished Performance Awards in 2002, and the author/co-author of over 220 refereed publications.
